Final Push off Environmental Cliff Empty Final Push off Environmental Cliff

Post by  Mon Nov 12, 2012 7:09 pm

Huge gas and oil deposits going into production in the U.S., the deliberate destruction of all Biofuel producers, and indicators of serious effects caused by greenhouse gases. This is the recipe for the final push off the cliff. So let's recap... Ramping up of greenhouse gas producing fossil fuels, proof positive of serious climate change caused by global warming, and the deliberate demise of green energy companies... If I were a gambling man I would bet on total environmental collapse before 2050!

U.S. to overtake Saudi as top oil producer

By Peg Mackey | Reuters
LONDON (Reuters) -
The United States will overtake Saudi Arabia and Russia as the world's
top oil producer by 2017, the West's energy agency said on Monday,
predicting Washington will come very close to achieving a previously
unthinkable energy self-sufficiency.

The forecasts by the
International Energy Agency (IEA), which advises large industrialized
nations on energy policy, were in sharp contrast to previous IEA
reports, which saw Saudi Arabia remaining the top producer until 2035.

"Energy developments in the
United States are profound and their effect will be felt well beyond
North America - and the energy sector," the IEA said in its annual
long-term report, giving one of the most optimistic forecasts for U.S.
energy production growth to date.

"The recent rebound in U.S.
oil and gas production, driven by upstream technologies that are
unlocking light tight oil and shale gas resources, is spurring economic
activity - with less expensive gas and electricity prices giving
industry a competitive edge," it added.

Global Warming Cause Felt by Satellites and Space Junk

By Charles Q. Choi | SPACE.com – Sun, Nov 11, 2012
Rising carbon dioxide levels
at the edge of space are apparently reducing the pull that Earth's
atmosphere has on satellites and space junk, researchers say.

The findings suggest that man made increases in carbon dioxide might be having effects on the Earth that are larger than expected, scientists added.

In the layers of atmosphere
closest to Earth, carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, trapping heat
from the sun. Rising levels of carbon dioxide due to human activity are
leading to global warming of Earth's surface.

Ethanol plants closing as corn yields drop, prices rise

Christopher Doerning 8/2012
WASHINGTON — U.S. ethanol producers are closing
plants and rapidly scaling back production, making the corn-based fuel
additive the latest victim of the worst drought to hit the nation in
more than 50 years.
The drought has sharply curtailed corn yields, diminishing earlier forecasts in May of a
record crop in 2012. Corn prices have soared more than 50 percent since
mid-June, hitting a record of nearly $8.50 a bushel this month, causing
a ripple effect for everyone from livestock to ethanol producers who
depend on the crop and are left to debate how to best use the remaining
supply.
In just the past few months, six ethanol plants have closed because of the
drought, reducing output by almost 400 million gallons. Most of the
firms idling output have been smaller producers, with the exception of
industry giant Valero Energy. Central Minnesota Ethanol Co-op in Little
Falls, Minn., and East Kansas Agri-Energy, LLC in Garnett, Kan., have
announced in August that they are shutting down.
